Career Day will be on Thursday, May 17th. We have a great line up of professionals to come speak and show us how their companies or products work. Our vendors will be available from 8-1 to do presentations. Careers include, but not limited to; medical, City of Temple (variety of dept's), dairy, farming, arts and crafts, legal, staffing, banking, technology and careers in food.

Parents or family members of students, please call School Counselor Jennifer Berumen at 215-7493 with questions or if you wish to volunteer and help with this event.

Little Wildcat Relays for all Cater 5th graders will be Friday, May 18th. Buses will load as close to 8am and students will travel to Temple High for the events to compete with 5th graders from other Temple elementarys. Please come out and support your child as they have practice very hard for these competitions.

The 3rd graders will be going to the Mayborn Center the morning of Tuesday, May 22nd. Buses will load as close to 8:20 and be to their destination by 8:45 and should return by noon. Parents, please have their permission slips signed and returned asap.

The Kindergartners will be going to the Railroad Museum on Wednesday, May 23rd from 8:30 to 1pm. Parents, please be sure permission slips are signed and returned in time for this fun trip. Also, if you are planning on chaperoning please have your forms filled out to do so.

The 5th graders are going to Belton on Friday, May 24th to tumble and balance at Powerhouse. Buses will load at 8:30am and should return around 2pm. Parents, please have permission slips signed and returned in plenty of time.

The 4th graders will be having a field day on campus Friday, May 25th from 11:45 to 2:45. They will be holding field events and each class will have their own special color.

The 1st graders will be going to the Planetarium in Killeen on Friday, May 25th and then to Lion's Park for lunch and free time. Buses will load at 8:30 and will return around 1:30pm. Please make sure all permission slips are signed and returned in time.

The 3rd graders will be going to the Temple Daily Telegram, the Railroad Museum and Whistle Stop for the end of the year field trip on Friday, May 25th from 8:30-2pm. Please make sure all permission slips are in and parents, if you are attending with your children please make sure you have filled out the volunteer forms in plenty of time.

Cater is having their annual Talent Show on Saturday, May 26th at 5pm at Cater with a MANDATORY dress rehearsal May 25th. All students, parents and Cater Staff are encouraged to participate. Tickets for the show will be $2 for students and $3 for adults. There will also be a pizza supper before the show starting at 4pm. $1 per slice and a canned drink. Please come join us for a drink and show!

School will be closed for our students and staff in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 28th.

Cater Awards ceremonies for K-4th gr will be held on Tuesday, May 29th in the cafeteria. We will start with:

1st gr at 8:30
2nd gr at 9:00
3rd gr at 9:30
4th gr at 10:00 and

Kg at 1:30

The 5th graders will be traveling to the UT campus in Austin to visit the The Texas Natural Science Center on Tuesday, May 29. Buses will be leaving at 8:30 and should return around 2:15. Parents, please make sure all permission slips are signed and returned. If you are wanting to go with your child on this trip make sure your volunteer form is in in plenty of time.

PTO will be providing a fun filled water day for the entire student population after 5th grade graduation ceremonies on Wednesday, May 30th. More info will be coming home.

The Cater 5th graders will be having their graduation ceremony on Wednesday, May 30th starting at 8:30 in the cafeteria.

The last day of the 2011-2012 school year will be Thursday, May 31st at 12:30pm. Lunches will move up 30 minutes early and report cards will be going home as well. We wish all our students and their families a happy and safe summer!
